The July issue of Oprah Winfrey’s magazine O, The Oprah Magazine features Amelia Bonow, the woman who started the #ShoutYourAbortion hashtag (to brag about abortions), and began a campaign to promote the “benefits” of Planned Parenthood’s abortion business and silence women who say they were hurt by their own abortion. The magazine is supposedly designed to inspire and empower women (liberal women obviously) and since regularly promotes liberal causes, it’s no shocker that it would promote abortion as well.
Bobow started the Shout Your Abortion movement as a social-media campaign in which women share what they consider positive experiences in having killed their unborn child. Except, there is noting positive about killing an innocent child.
Bonow told O that she was angered when, in 2015, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to defund Planned Parenthood. “I opened Facebook, and, without thinking, wrote, ‘Like a year ago, I had an abortion at Planned Parenthood … and I remember this experience with a nearly inexpressible level of gratitude.’ I hit Post 153 words later, and everything changed.”
Up to that point, Bonow said that she had “internalized the stigma — though I honestly wasn’t ashamed. Then why hide?”
Bonow said it was the fault of the pro-life movement that women are largely silent about having had an abortion. “The anti-choice movement wants it to be terrifying to speak the truth, because we can’t advocate for something we can’t say out loud. But the more of us who speak out, the clearer it becomes that all sorts of people have abortions.”
O magazine has 10 million readers, and it’s now not only promoting abortion, but glorifying it, as well as praising Planned Parenthood, saying Planned Parenthood makes abortions an “incredibly positive experience.”
Dawn Laguens, PP’s executive vice president expressed support for the movement,
“We’re happy to see more and more people coming forward.… these stories are a powerful reminder that women should never feel shamed or judged.”
Obviously they are happy. The more people claiming how great an abortion is, the more money they receive.
Bonow blamed the pro-life movement for portraying abortion as shameful. Yet she wants to silence the women whos abortion stories don’t line up with her narrative. There is a pro-life movement, Silent No More Awareness campaign, who gives a voice to people who experienced pain and regret after their abortions, to share their stories publicly, and its website documents thousands of stories of mothers, fathers, grandparents and others who experienced deep pain and remorse because of unborn babies’ abortion deaths.
